Position Overview

Our Catering Managers are the Dream makers of our hotel! Entrusted with the sales, planning and coordination of group meetings, social events and planned food and beverage functions. Though skillfully trained, they never lose sight of their ultimate reasonability, to create lifelong memories for our guests.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

A day in the life of our Catering Managers … it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. Consistency is key, as no two days are the same. The role requires creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Catering Manager accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.

• Our Catering Managers are responsible for reaching personal and team sales goals within the Catering Department Budget. Responsibilities include prospecting new and existing business, scheduling site inspections, preparing proposals, finalizing contracts, creating banquet event orders and diagrams according to Catering Sales Service Standards.
• Additional responsibilities include detailing of meetings and events according to client specifications, obtaining payments in a timeline manner.
• Our Catering Managers are relied upon to work in collaboration with other departments to exceed guest expectations.
• Communication is key to our success. Our Catering Managers must be able to effectively communicate with other departments and the extended hotel team in order to proper alignment.

Our Catering Managers are provided with specifics on how to care for their department and our hotel. While performing the duties of this position, the Catering Managers are frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate office equipment. Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist. Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light (10 lbs) to moderate amounts (up to 30 pounds) of weight; Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments.

Qualifications and Desirables

• English is the primary language used in our hotel. Our Catering Managers must feel comfortable communicating in this language.
• Attention to detail is critical for this role.

• Knowledge in Delphi and iPlan are desired.
