Job description
As a Civil Design Engineer, your primary focus will be:
- Lead or support the design and construction administration of civil works projects, including dams, levees, and floodwalls.
- Develop and review plans and specifications to ensure high quality, constructible designs.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create 3D surfaces and design models.
- Manage design and permitting tasks across multiple projects, balancing deadlines and technical requirements.
- Oversee construction administration, including bid support, onsite activity coordination, compliance checks, change order management, and shop drawing reviews.
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team that includes environmental, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
To be a successful Civil Design Engineer, you'll need to have:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Active Engineering Intern (EI) certification as a minimum, Professional Engineer (PE) license a strong plus.
- 5-15 years of professional engineering experience, particularly in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
- A proven ability to develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
- Excellent technical writing skills to produce clear, concise reports that communicate procedures and results effectively.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record, as well as a willingness to travel for project needs. Field experience and boat operation skills are a bonus.
