Job Description
The entry level Civil CAD Designer performs project assignments with instructions and guidance from the Project Engineer, Design Engineer, and Senior Designer on a wide range of site development and infrastructure projects. Responsible for utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D to develop thoughtful, creative, clear and concise designs and plan sets for our owners, clients and contractors. Demonstrates an eagerness for continued improvement around plan set aesthetics, design, integrity and cohesiveness and civil engineering principles.
EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
  • Project setup, plan production and annotation using the most current CAD standards and best practices
  • Attend project meetings, huddles and QA/QC protocols
  • Annotation and plan production for grading, drainage, utilities and horizontal control
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and bid tabulations
  • Apply and coordinate notes, legends and standard details as applicable
  • Support the other project team members including Principal, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Design Engineer, and others to achieve deliverable goals and meet the project deadlines

Salary Range: $70,000 - $89,000

REQUIRED Qualifications
  • Degree and Credential Requirements: NONE! We value candidates who can demonstrate capability and articulate how prior experiences will help them contribute.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Principles: Basic understanding of engineering elements including site design, grading and drainage, utility design using creative problem solving for completion of engineering plan sets.
  • Prioritize and Pivot Effectively: Produce high quality results while balancing work on a variety of projects and priorities in order to support multiple project teams and deadlines.
  • Communication: Remains open and willing to receive and apply feedback to continually improve.
PREFERRED Qualifications
  • Software Utilization: Demonstrated basic understanding with preparing construction drawings with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office software packages.
