Project Designer

Location: Kenner, LA, 70062

Job Summary

The Project Designer is responsible for coordinating activities between customers and Regional Sales Territory Managers to deliver high-quality project designs and support. This role involves creating equipment layouts, calculating utility requirements, producing detailed installation drawings, and maintaining effective communication with customers, vendors, and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create equipment layouts using AutoCAD software.
  • Calculate equipment utility requirements using Microsoft Excel for mechanical schedules.
  • Produce installation drawings including detailed locating, mechanical, and electrical requirements for customers and sales personnel.
  • Respond to various requests for information both pre-sale and post-sale using Outlook.
  • Consult with vendors to optimize plant layouts.
  • Collaborate efficiently with equipment vendors when involved in joint projects.
  • Communicate with customers regarding issues and potential solutions.
  • Travel as needed to take measurements, attend job site meetings, and participate in installations.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in industrial technology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Applications Engineering field.
  • Experience in mechanical drawing/design work with proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) design software.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and ability to clearly articulate mechanical concepts.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the 7-state territory as needed.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain situational awareness on job sites to ensure safety.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and directly with customers
