Role: Full stack Developer (Java-React JS)
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid Local Only)
Duration: 12+ Months

 

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess strong backend engineering expertise, hands-on frontend development experience, and the ability to build and maintain modern data pipelines. This role requires a collaborative engineer who can leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and support microservices-based architectures in cloud-native environments.
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Design, build, and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines using Python.
  • Develop and maintain workflow orchestration solutions using Apache Airflow.
  • Implement large-scale data processing solutions using Apache Spark.
  • Build and manage data solutions leveraging Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Apply software engineering best practices including automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Utilize AI-powered development tools to improve code quality, productivity, testing, and delivery outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support production applications and data pipelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot application development.
  • Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development.
  • Experience building ETL/data processing solutions using Python.
  • Working knowledge of Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Experience with Apache Spark for distributed data processing.
  • Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehousing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including testing, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codeium, or similar) within the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in privacy, security, or data governance platforms.
  • Experience with mutation testing, automated quality engineering practices, and test strategy improvements.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Exposure to platform modernization and large-scale enterprise applications.
