Job Summary: TheSystems Engineer - Safety Analysis will be part of a team of engineers andtechnicians providing engineering and technical support specific to performingsafety analysis for Torpedoes, Batteries, Software, Combat Systems, Ranges, andUnmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV) for the Systems Safety and ReliabilityEngineering Branch, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport RI. This is an ideal position for an experienced Systems/Electrical/Software/Mechanical Engineer interested in safety and weapons, or an individual with a Quality Assurance (QA) or CMMI background as there are commonalities in methods applied to complete the tasking.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Conduct research, studies and analyses to ensure that systemsafety engineering requirements and specifications are incorporated into thedesign of systems from concept phase throughout a systems life cycle.
- Employ existing guidelines and instructions, guidance fromhigher-level system safety engineers, experience, and independent judgment toplan and accomplish task objectives.
