Job description

FTS International, LLC (FTS) is committed to providing the Federal Government with quality consultants and support. We provide Subject Matter Experts (SME) free of Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) focused on independent analysis and mission support services within the disciplines of Engineering, Counter Terrorism Operations, Management, Information Technology, Signals Analysis, Administration, Cyber Security and Linguistics.
FTS has an opportunity for an Enterprise Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA.
The Enterprise Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering technical assistance in the area space protection.
Responsibilities
  • Assess space protection requirements, CONOPs, and system architectures to ensure end-to-end closure of space defense-related activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to advance protection and defense programs through formal system readiness reviews, ensuring successful integration and program closure milestones
  • Define study parameters and analytical requirements for modeling and simulation efforts, coordinating with engineering analysis teams to establish assumptions, negotiate scope, and ensure outputs addressed program protection and closure needs
  • Conduct requirements gap analysis across enterprise protection threads, identifying capability shortfalls and driving resolution through stakeholder engagement and requirements negotiation
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings to senior government stakeholders, communicating program status, risk posture, and closure progress in support of key acquisition decisions
  • Track and manage program risks and schedules across protection threads, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring resolution of open issues ahead of system readiness events

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with polygraph
  • BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Modeling familiarity (i.e. ability to understand MBSE and provide relevant feedback upon evaluation of a model or input for a new model at a minimum; SysML experience a plus)
  • Operations experience to appreciate mission-focus imperativeness
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills at all levels: peers/coworkers, leadership, customers, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand, follow-up and improve upon current approved processes
  • Ability to integrate and correlate information across multiple mission threads, AOs, and stakeholder groups to support enterprise-level closure

Desired Skills/Qualifications
  • MS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
  • Prior experience as a SETA or supporting program offices

Expected Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Placement within the range is determined by qualifications, job-related criteria, experience, internal equity and market considerations.
