SATCOM Systems Engineer

The Opportunity:

Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution.

As a systems engineer on our team, you will apply your systems engineering expertise to deliver satellite communications (SATCOM) networks for a worldwide network of SATCOM facilities that provide multifaceted critical data to tactical and strategic users. You will assist in the development of enterprise-level system architectures and supporting documentation to manage the development, fielding, sustainment, technical refresh, and operations of SATCOM systems.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with system engineering activities, including requirements analysis, engineering, design, integration, sustainment, testing, and technology refresh

  • Experience assessing SATCOM system architectures and hardware limitations, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, and design, development, and implementation

  • Experience participating in the planning, organizing, and conducting of technical projects design and development, testing, fielding, and sustainment

  • Experience developing systems engineering plans, identifying cost, schedule, and performance risks, and developing mitigation plans

  • Experience analyzing, evaluating, and planning methods of approach to achieve solutions of complex technical problems

  • Experience coordinatingand consolidating design efforts on major projects

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a military communications field, including Defense Information Systems Network, commercial network, and coalition network connectivity

  • Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), SATCOM, and IP network technologies

  • Knowledge of DoDI 5000.02 acquisition life cycle and systems engineering requirements

  • Knowledge of wideband, narrowband, and protected military SATCOM

  • INCOSE ASEP or CSEP, Security+, and CCNA Certifications

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
