Development Coordinator

In this role you will:
Manages the gift-processing function; including data entry, preparing acknowledgement letters, accounting reports, fund balances, fund transfers and reconciliation of records.
Manages donor records (hard copy and computerized): including pledge and gift records, pledge-reminder system, commemorative records and grants.
Manages administrative and corporate records: including Board and committee minutes and resolutions, policies and procedures and corporate licenses and permits.
Maintains records of non-cash gifts and their disposal to ensure accurate accounting of assets.
Prepares monthly income reports and works with Finance Department staff on matters affecting income records, including gift restrictions, fund balances and transfers and investment income.
Maintains liaison with donor software company to ensure proper maintenance and enhancement of donor database system.
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget, monitors program expenses, prepares invoices for payment and prepares financial reports as needed.
Establishes and maintains prospective donor research files (individuals, corporations, and foundations), including articles of interest, evaluative materials and tickler system on grant cycles.
Provides general support, including typing, filing, drafting narrative reports and correspondence and scheduling appointments.
Serves as primary first contact for Foundation donors: answer and direct telephone calls to the appropriate person and respond to donor/public inquiries.
Maintains efficient office operation and information flow: ordering supplies, processing mail, preparing office calendar and maintaining office equipment.
Assists in coordinating Foundation Board and committee meetings, including catering, location, notices, agenda and all other relevant materials as needed.
Assists in coordinating special events.
Assists in the development and management of direct mail and gift club programs.
Cultivates and maintains positive working relationship with Foundation Board members, donors, volunteers, management, staff and vendors.
Responsible for review of industry publications and trends in fundraising.
Required qualifications:- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years experience in a comparable institutional setting
- Experience in using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
- Current driver's license
- Previous experience in managing databases
- Previous budget/financial experience
