Position Overview:
Assists in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the department and hospital to assure quality patient care.
Job Description:
EDUCATION
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma: High School or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience

  • Other: Completion of a formal accredited Operating Room Technician program

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
  • Two (2) years scrubbing experience at CPMC required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Basic knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies.

  • Requires communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

  • Requires flexibility to accommodate emergencies as well as changing schedules and priorities.
