Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for surgery like a rockstar, setting up equipment, instruments, and supplies with precision and speed.
  • Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during procedures, maintaining a calm and focused demeanor even in high-pressure situations.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment with military precision, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Manage patient records and charts with ease, accurately documenting vital information and updates.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient patient care, from pre-op to post-op.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT), preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in an operating room setting
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
