Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating the maintenance operations of the administrative offices and the residential facility, purchase of hardware, building maintenance and cleaning/household supplies, coordinating estimates and major repairs with outside vendors, and completing all minor repairs and maintenance within the Shelter and offices at 610 Thompson St.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Purchases household supplies, and plans and obtains items for facility operations and minor repairs.
2.Obtains estimates for outside major maintenance work, such as electrical, plumbing, telecommunications and related items.
2.Ensures that the Shelter grounds and parking lots are kept clean.
3.Coordinates all maintenance needs of the facility and grounds, including appliances, equipment, lawn work, snow removal and notifies the Executive Director of equipment needs.
4. Maintains equipment and the facilities through preventative maintenance activities.
4. Completes all required documentation including up-to-date files on all equipment, maintenance and repair.
5. Ensures the alarm and emergency systems are in working order.
6. Oversees procurement, distribution and organization of keys for the building.
7.Serves on the Disaster Committee as a member and advisor.
9.Assists with pick-up and distribution of donations.
8.Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent along with strong organizational skills andmathematical ability.
• Knowledge of household, lawn and equipment care, maintenance and basic repair along with a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and equipment preferred.
• Strong people and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and give attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate orally in conversation both in person and by telephone.
• Ability to work well with people from a variety of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, sexual orientation, and age groups, and with individuals different skill levels.
• Ability to interact with others and remain focused while dealing with multiple objectives and timelines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work in a team setting and embrace the concept of teamwork.
• A demonstrated commitment to women and non-violence.
• Willingness to complete the required 64-hours of training on working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors within 6-months of employment.
• Must have current driver's license, car with current automobile insurance, and a willingness to travel about 20 percent.
