Job description

Industrial equipment repair and service industry serving automotive, steel, aircraft, tire & rubber, pulp & paper and food & beverage companies is seeking an individual to fill the position of Reliability Engineer for K+S Services on site at Collins Aerospace Troy, Ohio Location. The Reliability Engineer will have hands on responsibility to act as the on-site primary liaison between company and the customer on a day-to-day operation with focus on reliability driven projects, collecting pertinent information, identify projects or processes and implement improvements.

Helping our customer find solutions to everyday problems by assisting maintenance with proper installation and diagnosis techniques, documenting, and reporting common failure modes within the machine lines, working with large turning machines, coating lines and complex machining centers. Requirements:
Improve reliability and uptime of customer equipment, this could include some or all the following depending on customer needs:
  • Act as liaison between K+S Services and Collins Aerospace
  • Work with customer vendors in support of reliability projects
  • Provide deliverables for internal and customer requirements
  • Promote the importance of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Assist in the development of training documentation and programs,
  • Provide process equipment engineering for any type of failure analysis and deep dives. Using tools such as, but not limited to, 5Y, Six Sigma, ACE, Kaizen events.
  • Perform predictive practices such as oil analysis, ultrasound leak detection, vibration analysis to predict machine faults.
  • Create data driven tools to identify repeat failure modes, process improvements, and engineered solutions.
  • Identify and review re-occurring issues related to breakdowns and provide feedback and recommended solutions.
  • Develop tracking tools to identify measurable successes.
  • Deep Dive into SAP to determine scope of work for PM cleanup
  • Assist in development of PM Programs, PM Administrative Management (customer submitted updates; schedules; frequencies; etc.)
  • Critical Spare Part identification and management for all type A/B equipment
  • Work with plant personnel, maintenance, and production to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new, modified and existing equipment. Monitor failure data generated to ascertain potential requirement for asset/process improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in the repair process and machine diagnostics
  • Minimum of a 2-year Technical Associates Degree, Technical Trade School Degree in Mechanics, or Machining or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in manufacturing industrial maintenance, field service work.
  • Familiar with quality management tools (RCM, TPM, LEAN, RRCA, Six Sigma, etc.) as it relates to maintenance and production.
  • Preferred experience in large scale computer systems such as ERP, MRP, or SAP.
  • Familiarity with predictive tools such as; infrared thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis, motor analysis etc.
  • Experience in project management, and/or machine design for manufacturing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products.
  • Be able to write work instructions and single point lessons
