Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Delivery Manager- Project Manager to join our Field Area Network (FAN) team. This individual will be responsible for leading solution engineering and certification of the endpoint devices within the FAN ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a strong project management foundation, a deep understanding of FAN and RF engineering, and hands-on experience with edge engineering, device fitment, standards development, field testing, Power System Control integration, deployment logistics and management systems-particularly as applied in the utilities or telecom industries.
This role serves as a critical liaison between technical teams, deployment teams, and external partners, ensuring end point device readiness supporting FAN Edge Deployment targets.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Delivery Management

  • Lead the edge engineering and device certification efforts within Field Area Network (FAN) with a focus on EDGE Deployment readiness.
  • Manage Edge engineering and certification scope, schedules, milestones, and budgets, ensuring alignment with Field Area Network's Edge Deployment objectives and targets.
  • Drive schedule development and resource commitments for Edge engineering and device certification activities
  • Coordinate with system integrators, vendors, internal engineering teams, and field deployment units to ensure timely and effective delivery.
Edge Engineering Oversight
  • Provide technical direction and oversight related to edge connectivity designs, testing, device fitment, path profile analysis and install solutions.
  • Support field engineering teams in resolving RF performance issues and optimizing signal coverage for endpoint devices
  • Support edge deployment and operation teams resolving end point connection and performance issues.
EDGE Device Certification
  • Develop edge certification plan for in scope devices in alignment with Edge Deployment targets
  • Lead device certifications facilitating configuration, integration and testing activities with Power System Control, Distribution Automation and technical teams.
Stakeholder & Risk Management
  • Serve as a primary technical interface for stakeholders including distribution automation, power system control, edge deployment, RF and FAN operations.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies related to technology compatibility, RF interference, deployment delays, and vendor performance.
  • Provide management-level status reporting and ensure traceability of technical decisions and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in technical program or project management within utilities, telecommunications, or smart grid domains.
  • Strong experience managing FAN or AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) projects involving wireless mesh or LTE/5G-based communications.
  • Proven hands-on experience with EDGE wireless technologies and architectures (e.g., edge gateways, MEC platforms, containerization, low-latency processing).
  • Experience with endpoint device integration and deployment in large-scale distributed networks (smart meters, IoT sensors, field controllers).
  • Familiarity with utility operational environments, including substations, distribution automation, and NERC/CIP regulatory standards.
  • Strong vendor and contract management skills, including overseeing SLAs and cross-functional delivery milestones.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with private LTE, LoRaWAN, or other low-power RF protocols.
  • Background in SCADA, DERMS, or distribution management systems.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles as applied to field and edge computing environments.
  • RF Engineering knowledge, including radio propagation, spectrum planning, antenna deployment, and wireless network performance optimization.
