Job Description

Scion Nonprofit, has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Operations Manager with a well-established and renowned nonprofit that is dedicated to the life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorders. If you crave autonomy and thrive in ambiguous work environments, this is the role for you! This is a full-time contract to hire opportunity that is locally remote to New York City and is ready for immediate hire!

  • Very competitive pay rate in the $45 to $47+ per hour range!
  • 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday schedule!
  • Potential to convert to a permanent position beyond the scheduled 3-4 months contract portion!

Potential projects for this position include:
  • Providing various HR support while the client goes through a transition including administrative support 
  • Assisting with scheduling board meetings 3-4 times a year, including an annual dinner and Zoom calls
  • Assisting with benefit claims
  • Creating excel sheets related to infrastructure
  • Running reports for donor prospects including prospecting of donors and employees
  • Assisting with event coordination including supportive aspects
  • Calendaring and scheduling meetings
  • Micro and macro planning
 
What you need to be successful:
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in HR/Operations or a supporting role
  • Strong knowledge of Raiser’s edge, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience working with a fundraising nonprofit is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits
  • Startup mentality or experience with a startup nonprofit
  • Ability to project manage in HR & Operations
  • Ability to assist and communicate in a remote environment
  • Come in and hit the ground running
  • Someone who is agile and flexible
  • Someone who can take ownership of a task and drive it to completion and execute
  • Someone that is a team player and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Understand the important mission of our client
 
Compensation:
In addition to contributing to the impactful mission of helping children with cancer and blood disorders, this position offers a competitive hourly pay rate in the $45-$47+ range depending on experience and provides paid sick leave, health benefits, and an additional 401k plan for long-term employees. The potential to obtain a more robust benefits package is available to a permanent employee of our client after 3-4 months. 
 
This remote position with our client requires employees may require employees to meet in person on a rare occasion or attend an event. As a cautionary measure, the client is asking all workers to be fully vaccinated by the date of hire.
