Primary
Objective of Position:

Create and
ensure an overall enjoyable dine out experience for guests by accommodating and
anticipating guest needs.

Essential
Functions:

• Serves
  and creates a warm welcoming fun atmosphere for guests and employees by smiling
  on the floor and engaging with guests.
• Observes
  and reads guests to respond to any additional needs.
• Knowledgeable
  about restaurant food/drink items recipes and preparation.
• Follows
  and abides house rules and FOH Manual procedures.
• Applies
  seven steps of service to ensure quality table service.
• Properly
  uses Aloha POS system to order food, beverages, make proper modifications, and
  applies the correct charges.
• Applies company's
  alcoholic beverage policies and follows alcohol awareness procedures for
  preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
• Maintains
  overall restaurant cleanliness; set up, and break down work-station and restaurant
  appropriately.
• Applies
  company's sanitation procedures.
• Keeps
  immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual
  matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or
  suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
• Performs
  all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance
  with established company policies to achieve overall objectives of this
  position.
• Works as
  a team player by assisting other employees with duties as necessary or when
  shift becomes unexpectedly busy.
• Maintains
  a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to promote a
  cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conductive for
  positive employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
• At all
  times maintain a favorable image of Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar to
  promote its goals, objectives, and to enhance public recognition and
  acceptance.
• Performs
  all other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

• Neatly
  dressed, well-groomed in clean standard uniform at all times
• Stands/walks
  during entire shift (6-8 hours)
• Reaches,
  bends, stoops and wipes
• Able to
  deliver plates and food and clear tables which may require lifting as much as
  30 lbs.
• Able to
  read menu items to sight impaired guests.
• Able to
  verbalize menu items clearly to guests while taking their orders or responding
  to their requests.
• Able to
  read and write handwritten notes to hearing impaired guests
• Able to
  write or memorize guests orders
• Able to
  use the Aloha system to place orders
• Able to
  accurately make cash or credit card transactions and balance at end of shift
• Able to
  effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 25
