Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Rivers Core Values at all times
- Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive work atmosphere
- Maintain grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate and nametags are to be worn at all times, and ensure that the Poker Department Team adhere to the same standards
- Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times
- Be aware of and handle guest opportunities
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
- Maintains game security and protects company assets at all times.
- Engages guests during their play and develops relationships to create customer loyalty and repeat visits.
- Manages guest disputes, issues or concerns related to the department while maintaining a professional demeanor, balancing the need to protect assets and ensures regulatory compliance with guest satisfaction.
- Manages staffing levels according to volume of business.
- Enforces all poker procedures and policies.
- Prepares necessary shift and other reports as required.
- Makes recommendations for policy or operational changes to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.
- Operates in accordance with operating budget and assists with budget preparation and analysis. Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to extend complementary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix.
- Hires, trains and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental policies, practices and programs.
- Prepares electronic schedules for all poker staff, including the coordination of new hire on boarding, training classes and department meetings.
- Assists with time keeping and related payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payment to all team members.
- Coordinates meetings, files, types and enters data into computer.
- Consistently responds to correspondences in a timely fashion.
- Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents, along with acting as the custodian of documents and records
- Creates and maintains database and spreadsheet files.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- College degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in poker supervision and management required.
- Knowledge of poker procedures, game protection, regulations and training requirements.
- Must have strong leadership skills with a clear focus on guest service and Team Member relations as a priority.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff or customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
- Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
- Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to identify colors.
- Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
- Able to interact with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor.
- Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
