PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
To serve the restaurant guests by providing helpful information on food and beverage selections and present ordered choices in a timely manner and in a pleasant dining atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Personally demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding to guest needs and concerns; be committed to making every guest satisfied.
  • Helps guest select food and beverages by presenting menu selections, such as answering food preparation questions.
  • Is responsive to additional guest’s dining needs by observe dining process from start to finish with every guest.
  • Transmits orders to kitchen team members on a timely manner.
  • Serves orders by delivering guest’s choices from kitchen and per serving standards.
  • Accurate bill guests for all orders, and accept and process payment for all guests served.
  • Responsible for accurate recording of all transactions including payment type and tips.
  • Clear tables of un-needed items from all tables being served throughout dining process. As soon as the guest has left, wipes table tops and chairs, using damp cloth and replaces soiled table linens and sets tables with silverware and glassware.
  • Replenishes supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in dining room.
  • Respond to requests from guest for assistance and information about hotel services and/or the local area.
  • Understands and helps monitor basic safety and security procedures of the hotel.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Perform all assigned sidework such as replenishing condiments and restocking.
  • If applicable, abide by all State, Federal and Company liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The individual must posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with team members and guests.
  • Must be a team player and help where ever need.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with both team members and guests.
  • Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, serviceware and menu items. Some wine knowledge may be required.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to transport up to 35 lbs on a continuous basis and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
  • Must have basic knowledge of mathematics in order to correctly process all transactions such as the handling of money, make changes to orders, and accurately bill all guests.
QUALIFYING STANDARDS
Education
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Prior restaurant department or food service experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates
Food Service Sanitation Certificate, CPR Certification, and/or First Aid Training preferred. Alcohol Server Permit (if required).
Grooming
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Other
Must be at least 18 years old. Additional language ability preferred.
