Here's how a Field Engineer for our Civil West office contributes to our team:
- Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
- Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
- Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
- Participates in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
- Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns).
- Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
- Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
- Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
- Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
- Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
- Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
- Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
- Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.
