Minimum Requirements + Valid driver license;and + Must be able to stand for long periods; bend, lift, climb, stoop, and carry work equipment;and + One of the following: + Two year Associate degree in culinary or hospitality managementor + Two or more years industry-related experience**. **Industry-related experience is considered to be hotel or restaurant management, restaurant operations, field or laboratory experience in environmental or public health, food sanitation or quality control.** Please note: Applicants with a Bachelor degree in a health-related field or a Bachelor degree in any fieldandone year industry-related experience meets minimum requirements. Duties and Responsiblities The employee in this position is required to work a flexible work schedule to allow for inspections at temporary events, during peak service periods, holidays, and special events.

All flex time schedules must be approved prior to implementation of such schedule. This position acts as field staff Team Leader and assists the Sanitation and Safety Supervisor in coordinating scheduling activities and workload distribution. Acts as team leader and assists supervisor with coordinating & conducting new and current employee training, quality assurance, scheduling activities and workload distribution.

+ Inspects public lodging and food service establishments for compliance with environmental health and sanitation regulations, rules and regulations, and other safety or sanitation-related areas as deemed necessary. Inspector maintains records and files for one year. Conducts regulatory and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) inspections of public food service establishments and lodging facilities.

Provides consultation and prepares reports relating to safety and sanitation problems. Prepares administrative reports and maintains inspection activity data reports on a daily basis. Maintains appropriate continuing education requirements.

Identifies and licenses temporary food service events as required. Responsible for performing technology duties which includes but is not limited to computer software and hardware, data systems and Versa:Regulation. + Investigates food borne illnesses and environmental sanitation nuisance complaints.

Collect penalties, delinquent license fees and uncollected fines as needed. Gathers evidence and participates in legal actions. Conducts inspections and prepares reports to document compliance or non-compliance of licensure; issues license or pursues appropriate compliance action.

Conducts routine investigations for procurement of evidence of unlawful operations. Interviews, takes statements, collects evidence and prepares investigative reports for serious violations. Testifies at court and administrative hearings.

Serves and tracks legal documents. Works closely with local or state officials as needed to secure compliance. Assist as requested with more complex investigations.

+ Confers with and educates the public, builders, owners, public officials and civil groups concerning disease control, sanitation and health regulations. Issues licenses to public lodging establishments and public food service establishments. Conducts field studies to monitor health or sanitation standards.

Provides consultation and prepares reports dealing with safety and sanitation problems. Coordinates activities with federal, state and municipal environmental safety and health agencies. Interprets and explains the significance of public health laws, rules and other related sanitation and safety standards.

+ Performs other work as required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Knowledge of laws and rules pertaining to sanitation and safety inspections. + Experience in a variety of inspection activities.
