Description

  • Create tailored treatment plans addressing immediate goals and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver individual speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement.
  • Work in tandem with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to promote ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatment, assuring a seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery trajectory.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation complying with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education and peer networking to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
