The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Restaurant Events Coordinator to join our hotel team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Knowledgeable in Bloom & Bee's Private Dining Room, Patio, and full restaurant buyout set up and capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in Craft F&B partial or full buyout set up and capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in Bouchee partial or full buyout set up and capabilities, in addition to ability to book Afternoon Tea's and sell cake and pastry orders.
  • Knowledgeable in Stella's Wine Bar patio and buyout set up and capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in Pool Deck Events setup and capabilities.
  • Assist to re-solicit past accounts and generate new business from existing business.
  • Meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival, review the course of events and introduce other staff members (restaurant managers and servers).
  • Develop menus and agendas, ensure REO's are issued according to department SOP's, and complete all pertinent correspondence with culinary team for event execution success.
  • Maintain current hotel information and be able to provide hotel amenities information to all guests inquiring.
  • Ability to manage Open Table reservation system and maximize seating potential at all times.
  • Follow through to completion of function(s).
  • Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for all events.
  • Interact with outside vendors as requested with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required paperwork for REO's finalization; properly file all paperwork according to F&B standards.
  • Work with F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B outlet events and ensure event does not conflict with ongoing outlet business levels.
  • Responsible for creating menus for client's special events.
  • Responsible for setting up event with servers and restaurant managers as specified by clients.
  • Responsible for collecting deposit and credit card authorizations to finalize events.
  • Responsible for service excellence of event from inquiry to finale.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to deliver an exemplary service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond.
  • Must present an image of excitement and enthusiasm, while being able to project a professional appearance and demeanor. Inclusive of professional email and phone etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 4 years of previous food and beverage experience and/or as a coordinator or event service team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, and ability to learn new systems as required.
  • Ability to learn menu development software.
  • Strong restaurant and events executions knowledge.
  • Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
