The Wilbur Mansion is actively searching for efficient, personable, and customer-focused Banquet Servers to serve our onsite catered events! The Wilbur Mansion is Bethlehem's newest restaurant, event center, and boutique hotel located at the gateway to North and South Bethlehem. The Wilbur will be opening October 2022. Job Summary:
  • Set-up and break-down of events according to BEO and floor plan outlines, including moving/stacking tables and chairs, setting linens, flatware, and glassware, arranging dcor, setting and breaking down buffet line, and all other assigned pre-function duties.
  • Service events according to BEO timing and direction from Banquet Captain.
  • Provide bottled wine service to tables according to standards.
  • Tend to stationary hors d'oeuvres or perform passed hors d'oeuvre service to guests.
  • Act as client contact when assigned.
  • Clear the meeting room, including stationary in-room trays and covered carts to break-down buffets. Sort and assist culinary team with breaking down and addressing excess banquet food.
  • Act as buffet runner, effectively communicating to culinary staff when additional food items are needed in the event space.
  • Maintain proper storage of banquet dcor, tools, linens, and equipment.
  • Complete designated pre-event, side work, and post-event tasks efficiently and thoroughly.

Wage:

  • $12 per hour plus a percentage of Service Charge
  • $25 per hour guarantee during opening
  • Some cash tips may be received

Experience and Skills
Required Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year serving /banquet experience
  • Alcohol service training certificate a plus (will train if needed).
  • Ability to work in a constructive, team working environment with a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to operate smoothly under time-sensitive pressure while keeping composure and hospitality
