Responsibilities - Lead and supervise all aspects of the Swim & Dive program (Middle School, JV, and Varsity levels)
- Plan and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development activities
- Develop training plans that promote athlete safety, technique, and competitive growth
- Schedule competitions in accordance with FHSAA guidelines and school policies
- Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress and eligibility
- Establish effective communication with student-athletes, parents, administration, and staff
- Coordinate meet logistics, transportation, and supervision in alignment with FSUS policies
- Promote the program through school communication, social media, and community engagement
- Organize team events, awards, and end-of-season recognition
- Manage equipment, facility needs, and program inventory
- Ensure compliance with FHSAA rules, district regulations, and FSUS clearance procedures
- Assist with off-season development and program growth initiatives
Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid State of Florida Coaching Certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Concussion in Sports, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required prior to season)
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with children and young adults in an educational or athletic setting
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Previous swim and/or dive coaching experience at the high school or club level
- Knowledge of FHSAA rules and interscholastic athletics
- Lifeguard certification
- College coursework or degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field
- Experience with meet management systems and athlete development
Other Information Florida State University Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Head Swim & Dive Coach to lead and grow our middle school and high school swim and dive program. The head Coach will be responsible for fostering a positive, competitive, and developmentally appropriate environment that emphasizes sportsmanshnip, academic accountability, and athletic excellence.
This position reports directly to the Athletic Director and is expected to uphold all FSUS, FHSAA, and FSU policies and procedures while supporting the mission and valuse of Florida State University Schools Athletics.
