Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance

The Firehouse Subs® Quality Assurance Manager role offers an exciting, fast-paced, and high energy opportunity, while supporting a network of more than 1,200 restaurants across 45 US states, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Firehouse Subs® is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Quality Assurance Manager where he/she will be responsible for coordinating activities related to vendor compliance with quality assurance.

Duties may include:

• Assist in quality database maintenance
• Assist with development and maintenance of internal product specifications
• Work with vendors for resolution and corrective action for restaurant quality issues
• Conduct onsite food safety audits as required at manufacturing facilities and distribution centers to ensure quality and food safety standards are maintained
• Collect and review vendor third party audits
• Work with manufacturers and distributors to seek corrective actions for audit discrepancies or outstanding issues
• Maintain vendor database for historical tracking of audits and internal agreements
• Review nutrition and ingredients for approval of newly proposed food items
• Perform sensory and specification analyses for current products, new products, and competitors' products as required
• Manage third party lab program and review of COAs
• Communicate with vendor base routinely to ensure they are maintaining Firehouse Subs' and regulatory requirements
• Assist with collection of restaurant health inspections and management of historical health inspection database
• Manage third party carrier temperature monitoring program
• Assist with management of produce distributor network and issue resolution
• Assist with management of internal pest control program at restaurant locations
• Assist with management of internal sanitation program at restaurant locations
• Work in cross-functional groups to represent QA department

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/advanced degree or equivalent experience in a food-related field.
• Knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, FDA Food Code and manufacturing helpful.
• Familiarity with food safety auditing / inspections and production industry knowledge preferred.
• Problem solving / analysis skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal).
• Certifications related to food safety or auditing recognized within the food industry preferred.
• Field experience in the food industry is preferred.
• Strong computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• No relocation available.
