Job Description
SUMMARY
Analyzes manufacturing planning to determine compliance with customer required specifications and evaluates outside suppliers
to ensure that quality standards are in compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts audits of SOP’s to ensure that all quality standards are fully documented.
- Develops reports used for analysis of required corrective action for circumstances where defect rates are excessive. Approves outside suppliers based on established criteria.
- Prepares Quality Assurance operation instructions, procedures, policies, guidelines and manuals.
- Implements calibration activities to obtain minimum variances.
- Meets established standards for productivity and quality. Confers with supervisor when problems arise, which impact expected level of performance.
- Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to ISO /AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Performs any task required to support customer requirements and company goals.
- Coordinates rework, customer returns, and nonconforming product processing with other divisions and departments
- Interprets engineering drawings, process specifications, blueprints, test procedures, or formulas to verify compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilizes on-line data systems and electronic media to verify customer data, specifications, work in progress status, and data entry.
- Works independently with minimal supervision. Prioritizes work in order to meet commitments and deadlines.
- Must understand risk assessment and how to apply risk assessment tools
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent and five years of Quality Engineering experience within the aerospace industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CMM/Romer Arm Programming with PC DMIS software a bonus.
- Strong Root Cause and Corrective Action
- Ability to use and interpret aerospace drawings and specifications.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Ability to write routine reports, create charts, business correspondence and speak effectively with customers or employees of
- the organization.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processing, standard auditing procedures, and statistical process control.
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit or stand for at least 8 hours a day.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
