Position Overview:
  • Collaboratively and proactively supports and offers Project Management leadership within a cross-functional team within WW Oncology Medical Affairs.
  • This role encompasses strategic and operational elements of portfolio management and partners with the medical lead to identify, plan, and deliver on key portfolio priorities.
  • The individual in this role will partner with key strategic/operational and functional colleagues across the matrix (R&D, finance, commercial, business operations) to support the oncology portfolio and execution/delivery of priorities, and execution.
  • Fundamental skills include leading program/projects with passion, innovation, speed and accountability.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures and generates robust project plans and timelines and obtains alignment on project scope, objectives and priorities.
  • Leads the planning, and execution of assigned projects and ensures they are implemented and closed on time
  • Monitors project progress and escalates issues appropriately
  • Provides status reports defining project progress, risks, problems, and solutions.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks to project execution.
  • Applies efficient work practices for project management and ensures continual improvement of practices with the use of lessons learned.
  • Provide Procedural Support to Drive Accountability of P&L
  • Provide Contract Management Support
  • Provide operational and administrative support for Thought Leader Engagements (ie. Advisory Boards)
  • Manage vendors and contracts
  • Partner with Medical Team Lead/core team to facilitate medical matrix team meetings, ensure the agenda is focused on key deliverables, risk management, issue identification and resolution. Ensure that key actions and agreements are understood and the team is held accountable for their commitments
  • Partner with Finance to facilitate the budget process including trade-off discussions and on an ongoing basis ensure the brand budgets (including facilitation of annual budget, monthly projections, accruals, and variance analysis) are on track.
  • Support additional team meetings as required, with a focus on agenda management and ensuring stakeholder action item resolution.
  • Support cross-functional innovative projects
 
Required Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Ability to effectively assess, plan, and prepare recommendations regarding team objectives

  • Strong ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Results-driven with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take a new perspective on existing solutions; works independently, escalating issues or engaging senior staff for highly complex or high impact issues as needed
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and able to work independently with little or no supervision while maintaining a high level of efficiency
  • Must have experience in creating a project plan, constructing timelines and projections and risk work-up
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in medical affairs, development /clinical research, and pharma or biotech industries preferred
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience working in a project management role in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
