Eaton is seeking a Legal Counsel, Electrical Sector to join our team. Based at our Beachwood, OH facility, the position will have generalist legal responsibilities in multiple divisions and functions within Eaton's Electrical Sector. Reporting to the Chief Counsel for Eaton's Electrical Sector, Americas, the Legal Counsel will experience a variety of tasks and challenges related to commercial transactions; commercial disputes; competition law and trade; channel distribution regulations; litigation; contracts; labor and employment; health and safety; intellectual property; regulatory compliance; quality; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; technology transactions; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FPCA) and Anti-Corruption law.

Job Responsibilities

+ Provide legal and strategic counsel to Eaton's Electrical Sector in order to maximize benefits and reduce risk.

+ Ensure the business practices, policies and activities of Eaton's Electrical Sector meet legal and management requirements.

+ Proactively identify potential problems and devise creative solutions that strike an effective balance between cost and return, including both short-term and long-term business and legal considerations.

+ Provide legal advice on contract terms and conditions and assist in identifying and assessing risk related to alternative terms and conditions.

+ Lead negotiations in order to properly communicate Eaton's position, maximize benefits and mitigate risk.

+ Engage, manage and supervise outside counsel when appropriate and necessary, to provide the necessary level of legal services required for specific transactions.

+ Be "hands on" and involved in the business. Have courage of conviction and be prepared to stand up and be accountable when required.

+ Regularly collaborate with law department team members. Building and maintaining trusted relationships is essential

Qualifications Required Qualifications

+ JD degree from an accredited law school.

+ Minimum of 7 years' business legal counsel experience at a public company or law firm.

+ Licensed Attorney in a minimum of one jurisdiction in the United States

+ Leadership. Eager to take on leadership initiatives and challenging opportunities. Demonstrates excellence and inspires the same from internal and external stakeholders. Shows good judgment in identifying when it is necessary to drive difficult decisions and handles the same with sensitivity.

+ Efficient. Comfortable juggling a demanding workload and prioritizing projects. Synthesizes information quickly in order to provide legal support.

+ Collaborative. Develops relationships to become a trusted business partner with internal and external stakeholders. Able to manage complex professional relationships working in a large established law practice.

+ A Learner. Genuinely enjoys the practice of corporate law. Naturally inquisitive, interested in our business, and demonstrates tenacity when working on complex projects
