Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Medical Imaging Specialist (Clerical), you will be joining a team of employees who are compassionate, kind and deliver high quality, patient centered care. We work hard to support each other where the patients are the center of all we do.

In this role:

· You will perform and demonstrate proficiency in a variety of routine and complex clerical procedures that support and enhance the flow of operations within the Medical Imaging Department.

· You will greet and determine needs of patients or visitors immediately upon arrival to the Medical Imaging Department.

· You will establish good rapport with patients, visitors, physicians and their office staff while promoting a positive hospital image and creating a favorable first impression.

· You will direct patient flow in a smooth, systematic, continuous and timely manner to ensure that quality patient care is provided in an efficient and effective manner.

· You will possess knowledge of different modalities within the department and schedules exams as needed. Instructs patients on preparation for examinations and dispenses needed preps.

· You will work in other areas of Medical Imaging when asked and needed. Must be willing to perform special projects as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or Director.

· You will answer the phones in a friendly professional manner transferring to the appropriate party.

    · You will demonstrate minimum basic knowledge of some PACS processes and associated equipment, digitizers, CD burners, etc. Follows established workflow and reports problem areas or barriers to supervisor or PACS personnel. Logs out of computer systems after each session and complies with password security policies.



    What qualifications you will need:
    • Medical Experience in general office skills include filing, typing, telephone technique, and scheduling appointments is preferred. Medical Terminology would be helpful.
    • Must have excellent communication, people skills, and ability to have empathy. Must be flexible and self-motivated. Must be professional in demeanor and appearance. Must have a willingness to learn, critical thinking skills, and pay attention to detail. Must have knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures.


    The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds. We serve as the region’s healthcare provider and serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only emergency room in Idaho Falls. We have the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. We offer inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults at its 74-bed Behavioral Health Center.
