Do you have your Lifeguard Certification? Easterseals Florida is seeking energetic, motivated and creative individual to fill our summer camp Activities Assistant/Lifeguard position for our 2025 summer camp season at Camp Challenge in Sorrento, Florida. Easterseals Florida Camp Challenge provides children and adults with disabilities and special needs a summer getaway filled with laughter, friendship and fun. Our lifeguards are a big part of making that happen.
The lifeguard organizes activities in and around the pool. The lifeguard will work closely with other staff to schedule and oversee these activities and ensure that campers have a safe and positive experience. The lifeguard will also assist campers in other recreational activities such as sports, archery, the challenge course, arts and crafts, swimming, talent night, and making s'mores at campfires. Additionally, the lifeguard will assist with the personal care needs of our campers. A full week of training will be provided.

Summer Camp Schedule
- Sunday, June 7 through Saturday, June 13, 2026 (Summer Staff Training Week)
- Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 220, 2026 (Summer Session 1)
- Sunday, June 21 through Friday, July 3, 2026 (Summer Session 2)
- Sunday, July 5 through Saturday, July 11, 2026 (Summer Session 3)
- Sunday, July 12 through Saturday, July 18, 2026 (Summer Session 4)
Are you a psychology, social work, physical/speech/occupational therapy, nursing, or other related student looking to gain experience working with adolescents and adults with disabilities? Do you need internship hours, practicum hours or hands-on experience for your major? We can help with that!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training
- Current Lifeguard certification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Great communication skills
- Compassion, energy, and creativity skills
- Ability to assist in the physical care of our campers including lifting and transferring
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Being ready and able to work one of the hardest, yet one of the most rewarding, jobs in your life
