Hourly base pay rate is $29.38 - $44.09/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1. Maintenance and Inspections:

  • Responsible for the day to day activities of a team of nine Custodial Technicians including but not limited to creating work schedules, planning and assigning work and inspecting completed work.

  • Plans, assigns, performs and oversees general custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting of restrooms, offices and other areas within the facility; the cleaning of office furniture, walls, light fixtures, windows and floors; and the emptying of trash.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in selecting the most appropriate cleaning and/or sanitizing materials to properly support the team's work.

  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality is consistent with industry standards and the expectations of the Department Manager.

  • Purchase and inventory supplies and equipment to maintain adequate stock levels.

  • Perform proactive building inspections to identify and address concerns impacting building performance, employee comfort and safety.

2. Operations and Project Management:

  • Respond to emergency calls and take necessary steps to protect customers, employees, and property. When directed, may assume initial lead role in emergency response

  • Assists with the planning and execution of reconfigurations, furniture relocations, and setups for events.

  • May contact and communicate with vendors for cost estimates and process invoices

  • Inspect buildings, enter data into checklists, and track work orders

  • Collaborate on project budgets and emergency responses. Assists other facilities personnel as needed

  • Responsible for maintaining/properly safeguarding assigned company assets including, but not limited to, smart phone, laptop computer, building keys, shop tools, carts, etc.

  • Compliance with all local, state, federal, and OSHA facilities-related regulations

3. System Management and Reporting:

  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize & review spreadsheets/other reporting tools and communicate within the Microsoft Office suite

  • Utilize Work Order Management System software for work order management

  • Maintains records and provides support assisting the Environmental compliance group with all initiatives.

  • Observe, report, and address safety issues

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Five (5)+ years custodial or janitorial experience

  • HS diploma, GED, or relevant work experience

  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to operate and perform work on aerial work platforms.

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking, math, written, verbal, and collaborative skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a leadership position.

Environment and Working Conditions

  • Works in both office and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to inclement weather. May also work in warehouses and/or specialized facility environments as assigned.

  • Travel to remote offices involves exposure to traffic situations including emergency responses both day and night

  • Repeated bending, lifting, reaching, sitting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, navigating stairs, standing and carrying parts, tools and supplies

  • May require frequent use of ladder or stepstool, furniture dolly, hydraulic lift gate, tie-down straps, forklift and scissor lift

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
