Director of Medical Education (Remote)

We're looking for a driven, independent, and Director of Medical Education to create educational initiatives across the organization, which includes our publishing, events, and client deliverables, with a core focus on our industry-leading virtual events. This new team member will be familiar with the educational landscape across the eyecare industry, and have an understanding of how both virtual and in-person events are produced. 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an independent, efficient, and highly motivated Director of Medical Education to help us build brand equity. This individual will be instrumental in helping us make our mark in this rapidly-expanding industry.

The Director of Medical Education will be responsible for educational initiatives across the organization, which includes our publishing, events, and client deliverables, with a core focus on our industry-leading virtual events. The individual will be familiar with the educational landscape, KOLs, and sponsoring companies across the eyecare industry. They will work closely with our Director of Events, Director of Marketing, and Managing Editor to ensure the delivery of the highest level of education for the eyecare community. 

What will you be doing?

Educational Events

• Create the educational program for virtual events, courses, and other digital education projects.
• Select the event program chair(s) for Eyes On events.
• Attend clinical and practice management lectures at conferences and events to ensure a detailed understanding of key topics.
• Collaborate with Director of Events and Event Marketing Manager to create scalable marketing plans.

Publication

• Ensure the highest quality content, and level of scientific accuracy within the content we produce throughout the organization by helping to develop scalability within our systems.
• Work with the publication team to develop content strategy & content calendars.

Project Managment

• Start, build, and maintain relationships with industry KOLs / educators. 
• Be the subject matter expert within the organization for all clinical matters and ensure this information is disseminated to Department leaders so they may better share it with their team members.

What are the required qualifications?

• Has received their optometrist or ophthalmologist degree and has spent a minimum of 5 years in clinical practice
• High-level strategic thinker
• Ability to create and carry out tactical plans
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships
• Understanding of budget considerations within decision making
• Strong clinical skills and a broad understanding of scientific literature in the eyecare space

Top candidates will also have:

• Experience creating virtual courses or events
• Experience using HubSpot and/or ClickUp

CovalentCreative is a distributed organization whose team members primarily work remotely. We have an office adjacent to Balboa Park in Hillcrest, San Diego that you can work from if you choose.
