Position Summary:

The Driver for Syracuse, NY is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of automotive and industrial paint products and supplies to our customers. As the face of our company during deliveries, this role must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle to transport products to body shops, industrial facilities, and other customer locations.
  • Verify and load customer orders accurately based on invoices or packing slips.
  • Unload deliveries at customer sites, ensuring products are delivered in good condition.
  • Maintain delivery logs, mileage reports, and delivery records as required.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Assist in warehouse duties when needed (e.g., stocking, picking, packing).
  • Follow all DOT and company safety regulations and policies.
  • Provide excellent service and represent Colours, Inc. in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties within store as assigned during driver downtime.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in route delivery required; warehouse or distribution is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and a strong customer service mindset.
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of local delivery routes and territory is helpful.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrates strong safety awareness and adheres to all DOT, traffic, and company safety regulations.
  • Provides excellent customer service; courteous, professional, and responsive at all customer touchpoints.
  • Shows strong attention to detail when verifying orders, loading, and completing delivery paperwork.
  • Manages time efficiently and can adapt to changes in routes or delivery schedules.
  • Communicates clearly with warehouse staff, dispatch, and customers.
  • Works well in a team environment and is willing to assist in warehouse operations as needed.
  • Comfortable with basic technology tools, such as handheld devices, routing apps, and delivery logs.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing delivery tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and always represents Colours, Inc. in a professional manner.
