Responsibilities

About The Opportunity

This Labor & Delivery new grad RN position will be assigned to the night shift as soon as the new grad program completes.

This new grad program will consist of:

Approximately 12 weeks of classroom, online education and unit clinical orientation
Initial follow-up competency validation and development plans
Clinical rotation under the supervision of qualified preceptors
Ongoing meetings with the L&D Manager/Director,, preceptor and others to assure progression and advancement on the continuum from novice to competent performance.

At the completion of the program, the participants will be able to:

Successfully handle Labor and Delivery patient assignments including Cesarean Section and Recovery
Demonstrate a complete physical and psychosocial assessment on a patient
Take appropriate problem-solving actions when confronted with a clinical or safety events.
Work cooperatively and effectively with physicians, family members and other members of the healthcare team.
Our program is facilitated by nurse experts with special emphasis on: clinical skills, critical thinking skills, leadership abilities, communication skills, patient safety, and professional career development.

Qualifications

Program Requirements (no exceptions) . Please note, incomplete applications will be rejected.

Valid unrestricted RN licensed issued by the state of California
BLS
ACLS
NRP
Basic Fetal Monitoring
Breastfeeding Education (minimum of 4 hours)

Additional information:

Must be able to complete entire program with a perfect attendance record
Must be able to work 3 days per week after completing first 12 weeks
Must be able to work and train on either night or day shifts and include holidays
Must agree to terms and conditions of the program
