Job description

The Senior Analytics Developer will provide business intelligence solutions to various business groups using a variety of software systems. This role elicits stakeholder requirements and translates them into scalable, repeatable solutions. The Senior Analytics Developer will design and maintain database systems and create data visualizations and reports that translate complex data into actionable insights.

This is a remote 6-month contract.

COMP:  $65-75/hour depending on candidates experience, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Collect business requirements, evaluate, recommend, implement, maintain, support, and improve BI solutions, including designing, coding, testing, and deploying datasets, dashboards, and reports in Power BI (or similar technologies).
  • Manage product issues such as defects, patches, and upgrades, including deployment, testing, and post-production validation.
  • Define, guide, and deliver medium-to-large business intelligence projects from beginning to end, including directing work for Junior Developers. 
  • Test business intelligence solutions, including creating test plans/cases/scripts and implementing test plans.
  • Provide operational support and incident management for assigned systems, including proactively updating internal clients and relevant parties on status changes and issues encountered.
  • Author and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for processes, procedures, and dashboard/report designs.
  • Develop and deliver training about data marts and business intelligence, including continuing education and initial training for new users across the company.
  • Assist the BI Leader in developing the BI strategic roadmap and data governance framework.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of experience working in database development, administration, or related IT positions.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Science, Technology, and or related experience
  • Strong expertise with SQL and T-SQL.
  • Expert in OLAP, OTAP methodologies, indexing strategies, writing and optimizing sprocs, and managing triggers. 
  • Expert in BI/data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience in delivering data analysis solutions to business needs.
  • Expert at working with database and data processing tools such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, SSIS, or ADF is desired.
