Plant Manager

Job Summary:

Incumbent oversees the production and all warehouse operations. Responsible for the coordination of purchasing all food ingredients and packaging for Big Boy Food Group and our distributor to restaurants. Responsible for food plant sanitation, working with distributors, developing new business and working to fill restaurant needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Food Plant Operations. Incumbent is involved with the everyday operation of the plant. Incumbent communicates with each department manager, handles any immediate problems or concerns, spends time in the plant, and supports purchasing, inventory control, labor and sales. Supports all aspects of food production.
• Assists with new ventures, ideas, events and special projects.
• Ensuring plant readiness everyday by monitoring department staffing and supply needs to determine shortages and maintenance issues. Daily contact with each department manager.
• Reviewing problems daily with the USDA Inspector. Daily review of food production for outgoing orders to our distributor, plant cleanliness, and ingredients on hand.
• Tracking labor costs and overtime hours.
• Manage plant sanitation schedules, assigning tasks to the sanitation department for areas that need special attention, as well as regular maintenance.
• Expanding and gaining new business for the plant.
