Senior Solution Architect – Data Platforms (Financial Risk Focus)

Rate: $68/hr C2C Location: Chicago, IL (Local candidates only – No relocation) Hybrid Onsite – 3 Days/Week | Long-Term Contracts | C2C

Job Description:

We are looking for a Solution Architect – Data Platforms with strong experience in financial risk data systems. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms to support risk analytics, reporting, and compliance in a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data platform architectures (data lake, data warehouse, data mesh, or lakehouse).
  • Work closely with risk management, finance, and analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
  • Define data ingestion, transformation, and integration strategies using cloud-native and open-source technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, lineage, and security standards.
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to implement CI/CD, monitoring, and automation for data workflows.
  • Provide architectural guidance on scalability, performance, and reliability of data systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering.
  • Hands-on with cloud platforms – AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift), Azure (Synapse, ADF, Databricks), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow).
  • Expertise with big data frameworks – Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or Databricks.
  • Strong SQL and Python or Scala programming skills.
  • Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Exposure to financial risk data domains (credit, market, or liquidity risk).
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (Basel III, CCAR, IFRS9) is a plus.
