Summary
The Quality Specialist conducts tests on products or components to measure performance and identify quality issues. She/he needs to check the products to comply with guidelines and specifications. She/he maintains precise records of the findings, documenting any design or manufacturing issues which help to ensure that defects are quickly remedied and don't recur in the future. Quality specialists work as testers, samplers, and inspectors of quality control in the company.
Job Responsibilities
• Conducts inspection, testing, and/or screening for defects in Optoelectronic components.
• Uses of microscopes for further inspection and hand picking of small components using tweezers.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs into quality database.
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following SOPs (standard operating procedures).
Qualifications
• Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Software/ Hardware Knowledge: Basic computer skills for daily work
• Know how to use Microsoft word and Excel software for document and data entry
• Skills/ Abilities: Ability to use microscope; Steady hands; Need to be able to handle very small components
• Personal Characteristics: Willing and eager to learn, cooperate and follow instructions, pays careful attention to detail
• Understand and communicate in English

• This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
