Job summary
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM II), on the AWS Security SecDevOps team, you will be a critical part of an organization focused on influencing the security culture within Amazon. The SecDevOps team is responsible for building internal services critical to the AWS Security Incident Response organization. You will support and enhance the daily operations of our team by identifying, selecting, prioritizing, planning, and executing strategic improvement projects. You will apply your knowledge of project management and the software development lifecycle to deliver automation efforts that scale security engineer efficiency for Amazon, coordinate security incident management and incident response tooling across teams, and implement improvements and efficiencies across the organization. You will identify future opportunities for improvement through implementing and analyzing quantitative metrics around program functions. You will coordinate with other PMs, TPMs, Software Development Engineers, and Security Engineers to deliver frameworks and mechanisms, which provide services to other security engineering teams. You will help the team develop repeatable processes that improve program capabilities and project execution. You will be a crucial element for our team, ensuring the continued safety and security of our customers.

We are looking for a TPM for an area of strategic importance and significant impact to AWS Security. We are custodians of the incident management and incident response service used by security engineers in the AWS Security Incident Response organization. We innovate both on the frontend side and backend side to lower latencies for customer requests, improve security engineer efficiency, and deliver features for our customers.

In this role, you will collaborate with Customer Management and Engineering teams to drive roadmap and new features for services owned by the SecDevOps team. You will also drive adoption and growth of these services.

The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects for a team, and will want to have a lasting impact in the AWS Security space. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

Our team works together to provide work/life balance for all team members. We recognize that the circumstances of our team members vary, and we balance work across the team so that we're all able to maintain high standards on behalf of our customers, while at the same time allowing for rich and happy personal lives.

This job can be staffed in either Herndon, VA or Seattle, WA.
