Job description


Advatech Pacific performs design and analysis activities. These activities includes metallic and composite components using a range of tools, including finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculation methods. Advatech has an available position for a Structural Engineer that will focus on the analysis of various aerospace structures and components.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with Nastran, ANSYS or other applicable analysis software programs. 3-15 years’ experience performing hand calculations and FEM analysis for loads, stability, stress, and fatigue analysis.
  • Experience working as a lead with other engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Analyzing components and structures.
  • Recommending design changes when a component doesn't meet criteria.
  • Generating project schedules and cost estimates.
  • Experience as the primary interface with customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Experience reviewing other engineers’ work to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Creating presentations and reports to document design choices and analysis results.
  • Presenting results to customers during design reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines, Rotors, Shafts and Blades is highly desirable or experience with aircraft structures and composites in the following area’s; Design, fabrication, and analysis of composites, formed aluminum, cast, and other metallic components (Spars, Assemblies, Ailerons, Wing Box, Winglets, Pylons, Wing Edges, etc.).
  • Experience brainstorming design concepts a plus

Education

Requires a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
