This position was created for people who love what they do, but want to spend a little less time doing it. COVID has had a profound impact on us all and we understand the need to make time for all the important things in your life. As a part-time engineer at 219 Design, you will enjoy a flexible schedule averaging ~30 hours a week. You will collaborate with firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineers on a diverse set of projects to make impactful new products come to life.

As a Senior Software Engineer at 219 Design, you will collaborate with other 219ers on a diverse set of projects to make impactful new products come to life. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software as part of an interdisciplinary team, managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Requirements

Role

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews by providing timely feedback to peers in a constructive manner.
  • Collaborate with 219ers across engineering disciplines during development.
  • Define and execute tasks required to complete projects with well-defined or open-ended requirements.
  • Participate in weekly Software Discussion meetings to discuss best practices and share project triumphs and struggles that could benefit from the input of others.
  • Chime in on our Slack channels when you see an opportunity to help out a colleague.
  • Maintain awareness of bigger picture context for 219 Design and our clients while executing tasks.

Qualifications
  • BS degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency with C++ development
  • Track record of success with the development of complex systems
  • Excited and able to work on medical and other safety-critical devices
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Collaborative, but can also handle autonomy and self-management
  • You live in or will move to California or North Carolina
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
