Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Location: Greater Nashville Area
Salary: Up to $130K + Bonus

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the R&D and product development of advanced capital machinery. This individual will take ownership of mechanical system designs, oversee detailed modeling and simulation work, and guide products through the full development lifecycle. The role requires strong design expertise, experience in electromechanical systems, and leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop requirements and detailed product specifications for heavy industrial equipment.
  • Design and model components using Autodesk Inventor; perform FEA using MSC Nastran or equivalent.
  • Apply DFMA, DFSS, and tolerance analysis to create manufacturing-ready designs.
  • Create and release Bills of Materials and ensure PDM compliance (Vault preferred).
  • Conduct design reviews, develop test procedures, and validate designs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and customers; conduct site visits as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support engineering process improvements.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience (or 5+ years with M.S.)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, structural FEA tools, and PDM systems
  • Experience in capital equipment design; food processing or packaging preferred
  • Familiarity with electromechanical systems and combustion devices is a plus
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
