Job description

Strategic Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

To perform effectively, organizations need help looking at their operation from the outside. Whether standing up a new organization, transforming an existing one, or transitioning an organization such as through a merger or split-up, our clients need a professional who will take the time to learn the complexities of their mission and provide them with tangible advice on business process improvements, mission success, and standard methodologies.

That's why we need a management professional like you who can analyze every aspect of your customer's operations and give them the roadmap to becoming the organization they envision. As a management analyst on our team, you'll develop an overall picture of your client's current structure, day-to-day operations, and outcomes in a manner that they may not have thought of before.

On our team, you'll use discussions and workshops with stakeholders and a wide array of engineering professionals to identify the elements that work best in their environment and areas for improvement. Once you have a thorough understanding of where and how the organization can improve, you'll work on a path forward with your clients. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with strategic communications or project management
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering or science management, operations research analysis, or financial or cost analysis field
  • Experience with Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate, and Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Experience working with executive-level clients
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail, and be flexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing client priorities
  • Ability to author briefings and formulate responses to data calls
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in DoW, Navy, or Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) mission systems organizations
  • Experience with process improvement or strategic planning
  • Experience with DoW Acquisition
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, or Tableau
  • Knowledge of DoW systems engineering
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple client organizations and teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
