Covestro's Manufacturing Rotational Engineering Development Program puts you on track for an exciting career at one of the world's largest & most innovative producers of polymers & high-performance plastics.

Throughout the multi-year program, you'll work closely with some of the industry's best and brightest manufacturing and engineering experts at our world-class, large-scale Baytown facility near Houston, Texas. Rotations last up to 12 months in two of our on-site business units. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You'll learn about our business' products and processes, focusing on process optimization and reliability improvements. You will partner with Engineering to gain hands-on experience with project execution and receive specialized technical training throughout each rotation. These carefully designed rotations will build the strong, well-rounded technical foundation you need to launch your engineering career and help Covestro continue to produce the highest quality products in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. At the end of the program, participants will be placed in an engineering position within one of our core businesses, with most positions located in Baytown. Members of the Baytown site leadership team are directly involved in placing participants, giving you early exposure to this influential group of decision makers. Upon completion of the program, the business in which you will be placed is determined by the needs of our businesses, with your preferences taken into consideration.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree by May 2027 or start of employment in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering or process control engineering with the desire to pursue a career in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous internship or co-op experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Covestro internship experience
  • Previous internship or co-op experience, preferably in an industrial/chemical plant setting
Knowledge of business concepts, such as marketing, finance and information technology, for process modeling and analysisKnowledge & Skills
  • Excellent communication, listening, team and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information accurately
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills
  • Proven results by working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in extracurricular or community activities
  • Established ability to interact effectively with a variety of functions and with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong desire to work in a chemical plant
