This structure is designed to give participants a broad understanding of the business, develop diverse skill sets, and identify areas where they excel. Rotational programs are common in large companies and are often targeted at recent graduates or early-career professionals. They help employees gain exposure to various functions, build networks, and prepare for leadership or specialized roles.

Job description

Overview

A private family on the San Francisco Peninsula is looking for an experienced, warm-hearted ROTA Nanny to join them. This is a well-run, fully staffed household with clear routines, thoughtful protocols, and a real respect for the people who work within it. The family is looking for a long-term fit; they have one toddler, and are seeking a candidate that ideally also has experience with infants, should they choose to extend their family.

This position will suit a career nanny who does their best work inside a structured environment - someone who values systems, communicates openly, and takes genuine pride in steady, high-quality care. You will work alongside an established team that includes a co-nanny, the Chief of Staff, and the House Manager, so the ability to collaborate, welcome feedback, and read a room matters every bit as much as hands-on experience with children.

Above all, the family is looking for emotional intelligence: warmth, intuition, patience, and the kind of quiet judgment that keeps a busy household running smoothly.

Schedule & Structure

The rotation runs Tuesday to Tuesday on a 14-days-on, 14-days-off basis, with a 12-hour schedule required each day;ย  local accommodations provided during each working week. On occasion, the family may ask you to step in during an off week with roughly 48 hours' notice, in the event of emergencies.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate, however the family is open to candidates who prefer to fly-in / fly-out in lieu of relocating to the Bay Area.ย

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, nurturing care for the children, with full attention to their safety and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and loving environment across each rotation.
  • Support developmental milestones through age-appropriate play, learning, and engagement.
  • Work closely with the co-nanny, Chief of Staff, and House Manager to keep care consistent and seamless.
  • Travel with the family domestically and internationally as needed.

Child-Related & Household Duties

  • Children's laundry.
  • Tidying common areas and play spaces.
  • Running and unloading the dishwasher.
  • Taking out the trash throughout the day.
  • Document notable actions at the end of every shift.
  • Packing for trips.
  • Inventory management.ย

Who We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of professional nanny experience in private homes.
  • Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children.
  • A strong background in structured, fully staffed, or formal households (strongly preferred).
  • High emotional intelligence and a natural ability to "read the room."
  • Professional, proactive, and detail-oriented in everything you do.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and genuinely open to feedback.
  • Comfortable working with clearly defined systems, SOPs, and checklists.
  • At least one prior long-term Rotational Nanny role (preferred, though not a firm requirement).
  • A genuine love of pets and comfort sharing a home with them.
  • Mandarin language skills are a significant plus.

Requirements

  • Non-smoker and non-vaper.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Valid passport and a willingness to travel.
  • Excellent, verifiable references.
  • Ability to pass an in-depth background check.
  • Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.ย

Required Vaccinations (No Exceptions)

  • MMR
  • Tdap
  • Influenza
  • COVID-19

The family reserves the right to request additional vaccinations as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Annualized compensation of $180,000 - $200,000, depending on experience. The family offers a thoughtful and generous benefits package, including:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, with 90% partial coverage available for partners and dependents.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • 10 paid sick days.
  • 11 paid holidays.
  • Paid vacation (accrual details to be discussed at the offer stage).
  • Discretionary bonus.
  • Yearly wage review.

Hiring Process

Suitable candidates will be invited to a paid working trial, giving both you and the family the chance to make sure the fit feels right before moving forward. The family is looking forward to hiring someone to start by August.
