About Us

At the American Retirement Association (ARA), we are dedicated to empowering retirement professionals to help all Americans achieve a secure retirement. We do this through education, advocacy, and innovation. Join our collaborative, mission-driven team and help shape the future of retirement in America.

Position Summary

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced Digital Product Manager who will support the execution, coordination, and ongoing operation of the American Retirement Associationโ€™s software products, beginning with Ask ERISA and the ERISA Outline Book (EOB) platforms and other future digital offerings. This role serves as the operational and cross-functional lead for product launches and ongoing operations, connecting Marketing, IT, Education, Sales, and Customer Care to ensure coordinated, well-documented execution. The Digital Product Manager evaluates and recommends product features for prioritization, manages launch readiness for new products, quality assurance processes, maintains product and resource-usage metrics, and translates customer and field feedback into actionable improvements. The position is expected to expand over time to support additional software products as ARAโ€™s product portfolio grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Feature and roadmap execution: Evaluate and recommend new feature requests for prioritization. Establish and maintain a repeatable framework for prioritizing across multiple products that compete for shared engineering and support capacity.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Serve as the connective layer across Marketing, IT, Education, Sales Operations, and Customer Care for product launches and operations. Coordinate with the sales team on pricing and packaging, contributing product input and customer feedback. Manage launch readiness for new products across teams, including operational checklist items, testing, and go-live punch lists. Manage the quality assurance and acceptance process, coordinating sign-off across stakeholders.
  • Operations and documentation: Follow and keep updated standard operating procedures for product and account lifecycle operations, including provisioning, seat changes, and deactivation. Develop and document standards for how new products are evaluated, scoped, and launched.
  • Customer and field input: Equip sales and customer care with product knowledge for demos and conferences. Translate customer feedback into prioritized product improvements and run a structured feedback loop from users and the field into the product backlog.
  • Metrics and reporting: Monitor product metrics, including adoption, engagement, feature usage, and feedback. Monitor and maintain resource and consumption metrics, and report out to support planning, budgeting, and the identification of resource abuse or unsustainable usage. Report product status, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Skills Requirements: Communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Project management, planning, organization, and cross-functional coordination skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with product and usage metrics. Process documentation and time management skills. Ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Requirements: Working knowledge of software product management practices, including backlog input, requirements gathering, launch coordination, and quality assurance. Familiarity with SaaS and subscription product operations, including provisioning, account lifecycle, and usage-based cost monitoring. General understanding of AI-powered or retrieval-based software products and the cost and performance considerations involved.
  • Technology Requirements: Virtual communication and presentation platforms. Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Fonteva or other Association Management Systems, Content Management Systems, and Digital Experience Platforms.
  • Experience Requirements: 3+ years of experience in product management, product operations, or a comparable role supporting software products.
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Supervisory Requirements: None
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional domestic travel for conferences, product demos, and team meetings.
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, both in a home and office environment. Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, phones, and printers. Visual acuity to view and analyze information on a computer screen for extended periods. Occasional light lifting (up to 20 lbs) for transporting a laptop or office materials between work locations. Ability to commute to the office as required (i.e., at least 3 days per week). Ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings, presentations, or team collaborations.
