Job description

POSITION SUMMARY 

This position provides advisement, training, information, and technical assistance to prospective and current Section 3 businesses, CHA contractors and job seekers in the areas of online portal registration, navigation, and employment opportunities. Provide assistance and advisement to S3 businesses under contract with CHA on navigating select software platforms and finalizing required documentation.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide advisement to Section 3 businesses, CHA contractors and job seekers on how to navigate the Workforce Opportunities portal including but not limited to posting positions, creating profiles, and applying to opportunities. 

  • Works with Workforce portal registrants to create and update profiles. 

  • Creates reports related to jobs posted, filled and vacant; S3 businesses and types, etc. 

  • Provide technical assistance to Section 3 businesses who face challenges when utilizing CHA portal systems including eBuilder. 

  • Works with users individually and in group format as needed. 

  • Creatively engage the public to inform them of programs offered by the Workforce Opportunity Resource Center. 

  • Designs curriculum for training programs utilizing industry best practices and proven curriculum development processes. 

  • Ensures that training content is designed in accordance with CHA's policies, rules, procedures, and branding guidelines. 

  • Develops and updates training materials including instruction guides, participant guides, presentations, handouts, and other course materials as necessary. 

  • Provides effective training on the navigation and usage of workforce, procurement, project management and other portals as well as on implementation of Section 3 compliance rule in a manner that participants will understand and learn. 

  • Possess strong customer service skills with a mentorship mindset. 

  • Ability to effective conduct their assignments independently and within a team. 

  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve, plan, and organize. 

  • Handles and manages multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • May be asked to handle tasks outside of job description to meet broader goals of CHA and Resident Services. 

  • This position requires working hours outside of CHA's established hours of 8a5p MondayFriday. 

  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor's Degree in Business, or Management, or a businessrelated field and a minimum of two (2) years' experience developing and delivering workplace training, software portal and database utilization, adult continuing education or workforce/small business development programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of or experience working with B2Gnow, LCPtracker, eBuilder, QuickBooks, elearning authoring tools and SharePoint preferred. Should be a selfstarter, takes initiative and an adaptive learner and teacher that is personcentered.  Knowledge of HUD and CHA Section 3 Policy, public and private sector procurement processes, construction management and business budgeting preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in Power Point.
