Job description

Senior Workday Security & Integration Engineer
Department: Internal Systems

About the Role
DoubleVerify is seeking a Senior Workday Administrator to serve as the primary owner and technical steward of the security and integration management within our Workday platform. This role is critical to enabling operational excellence, ensuring data integrity, and driving continuous platform optimization that supports our growing workforce and evolving business needs.
Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Systems, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, configuration, and enhancement of Workday, while serving as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical implementation. You will ensure platform stability, security compliance, and seamless integration with our broader enterprise systems ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary owner Workday the security and integration configurations and processes
  • Manage security groups, tenant configurations, and data integrity across the production and sandbox environments
  • Proactively identify and implement platform enhancements that improve user experience, reduce manual effort, and increase data accuracy
  • Participate in bi-annual Workday release management, including feature evaluation, testing, and controlled deployment to minimize business disruption
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, and other stakeholders to design scalable solutions that support business growth
  • Document all configurations, business processes, and custom solutions to maintain institutional knowledge and support audit readiness
  • Own the full lifecycle of Workday integrations connecting to external systems (payroll providers, benefits carriers, time tracking systems, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize custom integrations using:
    • Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs)
    • Core Connectors
    • Workday Studio
    • RESTful/SOAP web services
  • Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data accuracy across connected systems
  • Implement error handling, logging, and alerting mechanisms to proactively address integration issues
  • Configure and maintain role-based and user-based security groups, domain security policies, and business process security policies
  • Conduct quarterly security audits to ensure proper segregation of duties and compliance with internal controls
  • Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews in accordance with SOC 2 and other compliance requirements
  • Partner with IT Security to enforce data privacy standards and respond to access-related audit findings
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning recommendations
  • Manage tenant operations including sandboxing, data loads, and configuration migrations
  • Leverage XML, XSLT, and APIs to manage complex data transformations and integrations
  • Stay current on Workday product roadmap and emerging features, evaluating applicability to DoubleVerify's needs
  • Partner closely with HRIS Team and HR Stakeholders and contribute to the broader Corporate Systems strategy by identifying opportunities for automation, AI enablement, and cross-platform optimization
  • Partner and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, release, and hypercare
  • Provide expertise in security and integrations architecture, ensuring appropriate access controls, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across HCM, Financial, and Payroll modules.

Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday Security administration experience, including at least 2 full implementation or upgrade cycles
  • 3+ years developing and managing Workday integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio)
  • Experience managing security frameworks, business processes, and tenant operations in production environments
Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in Workday security and integration configuration, including business processes, calculated fields, and custom validations
  • Strong integration development skills using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and web services (SOAP/REST)
  • Proficiency with XML, XSLT, and API-based data transformations
  • Experience with Workday Report Writer, Advanced Reports, and Dashboards
  • Understanding of HR data models, payroll processes, and benefits administration workflows
  • Mastery of creating, maintaining, and auditing security groups (user-based, role-based, constrained, unconstrained, intersection, segmented, etc.)
  • Proficient in configuring ISUs/ISSGs and their domain and business process security policies, including knowledge of how to secure Workday web services.
  • Strong working knowledge of managing authentication policy, authenticated login with SAML SSO, Multi-Factor Authentication, OAuth 2.0, IP restriction, certificates and keys.
  • Practiced in provisioning Implementer tenant access, Service Center Representative configuration, migration access, and proxy access policy.
Soft Skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Pro Certifications in HCM, Integrations, or Security
  • Familiarity with iPaaS platforms (e.g., Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft) for hybrid integration scenarios
  • Background in SOC 2, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company environment
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) for automation
  • Workday Business Process configuration experience.
  • Workday implementation tools experience (EIB, Customer Central Management, etc.)
  • Workday experience building, modifying, and securing custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
