Job Description:

Position Summary

The Workday Financials Consultant supports the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday Financial Management modules. The role works closely with finance, accounting, and IT teams to ensure accurate financial processes, reporting, integrations, and system enhancements aligned with university requirements and compliance standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Workday Financials modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Expenses, etc.).
  • Gather and analyze business requirements from finance stakeholders.
  • Design and implement system configurations, business processes, and financial workflows.
  • Support system testing, upgrades, and production releases.
  • Troubleshoot financial system issues and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop financial reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
  • Support integrations between Workday and external systems.
  • Ensure compliance with university financial policies and audit requirements.
  • Provide end-user support, documentation, and training.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Financials configuration and support
  • Knowledge of core financial processes (GL, AP, AR, budgeting, procurement)
  • Experience with business process design and configuration in Workday
  • Reporting tools (Workday Reports, Prism, or similar BI tools)
  • Data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with system testing and deployment support
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of finance and accounting principles

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred Certifications

  • Workday Financial Management Certification
  • Workday Integration Certification (preferred)
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent finance certification (optional advantage)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred)

Preferred Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in Workday Financials implementations or support
  • Experience in Higher Education, public sector, or large enterprise environments
  • Experience in ERP financial system upgrades, reporting, and integrations
