Workday Financials Functional SME (Part-Time | Remote)
We're seeking a senior Workday Financials Functional SME to support a critical phase of a Workday Financials transformation initiative.
📍 Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based only)
⏳ Duration: Approximately 5 months
🕒 Hours: 10-15 hours per week
This is a hands-on functional advisory role focused on validating requirements, aligning accounting processes to future-state Workday capabilities, refreshing gap analyses, and supporting testing, UAT, and cutover activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate and refine Workday Financials requirements and user stories
- Assess accounting SOPs and recommend retain, retire, or update actions based on future-state Workday processes
- Review and validate gap analyses across Workday Financials and related platforms
- Provide functional guidance during testing, UAT, and cutover activities
- Advise on system integration and process alignment initiatives
Required Experience:
- Deep expertise in Workday Financials configuration and functional processes
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance operations
- Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, or transformations
- Background in requirements validation, business process optimization, and gap analysis
- Experience with testing, UAT, and go-live support
Preferred:
- Exposure to Apptio, TBM, Cost Transparency, or related financial management platforms
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments
